THE DISAPPEARED
Humanitarian Art to Raise Awareness Challenge 2017, 1000 Humanitarian Paintings to Raise Awareness to 100 Humanitarian Causes Mountain Landscapes San Gabriel Mountains Los Angeles California USA With this art I would like to bring awareness to the problem of people who are disappeared. I created a book of the series titles: Robbed of My Mother when the Mountain swallowed her alive in a Flood, I Spoke to the Mountain and It Spoke Back A True Story Original Art & Writing By Grace Divine From back cover: Every year, thousands of people disappear. Where do they go? What happens to them? In 1978, when my mother was 37 years old, she disappeared in the San Gabriel Mountains surrounding Los Angeles in California. She and 19 other people were taken by a 40 foot wave flood, in the mountains, that overturned massive firetrucks and destroyed homes taking walls in its trek downward. In this book, I use art and writing to share my story of despair, as I wallowed in the misery of not knowing with certainty my mother's final end. This "not knowing" is often a condition that happens to survivers of tragedy. My solution is that as an artist and mystic, I believe that everything that is harmonious has a consciousness. So, on 2017, I spoke to the mountain. And in this book and with this art, I share what the mountain answered back to me. Ultimately, there is lots more work and study, including scientific study, to discover what happens to people after we die. I believe there is much more to death than just an ending. I have a strong suspicion that it is also a beginning. Grace Divine BOOK COVER 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 |
